Stacy Malkan is the author of the book, Not Just a Pretty Face: The Ugly Side of the Beauty Industry, it exposes the toxic truth about everyday personal care products. It would probably shock most of us to know just what is in our favorite cosmetics and the things we use to aid us in looking our best. The award-winning book Stacey has written tells the inside story of the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics’ efforts to give the beauty industry a makeover. Stacy helped launch the cosmetics campaign with the Not Too Pretty report, which found chemicals linked to birth defects in more than 70% of products tested. (U.S. Congress just voted to ban these chemicalsfrom toys, but they are still legal to use in personal care products.)

Stacy is an amazing woman who is helping many realize that beauty is healthy and that it should not be harmful. The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics is a national coalition of non-profit groups working to eliminate harmful chemicals from personal care products.
